Salas Camp
Sala’s Camp is a sophisticated and private camp located in the remote southern region, where the Masai Mara and Serengeti meet. The seven cozy safari tents at this charming tented camp are arranged among shade-giving trees along the banks of the Sand and Keekorok Rivers. With a view of the big migration in the Northern Corridor of the Serengeti, our camp provides visitors with the best of both worlds.
Sala’s Camp, located in the secluded Kenyan wilderness, offers an unpretentious luxury that is the perfect combination for an amazing safari experience. The camp can only hold up to eighteen people at a time because there mare only seven tents on the grounds. The camp is tastefully furnished, and each safari tent has modern amenities to make visitors feel comfortable and pampered. This environmentally friendly camp uses solar energy for electricity and includes a backup generator for gadget charging and refrigeration. Sala’s Camp has many natural elements and breathtaking scenery in addition to its man-made amenities. The camp is situated directly beside the Serengeti’s famous Northern Corridor, which is the site of the annual migration. It makes the camp a great place for visitors to observe breathtaking river crossings and to spot wildlife in the surrounding area.
Sala’s Camp offers fully furnished safari tents for the comfort of its guests. There are six opulent tents for one or two people in addition to one safari tent fit for a family of up to four people or a romantic honeymoon. This larger safari tent features a central seating area and a double room. Every tent has glass-fronted rooms, clean, comfy beds with fresh sheets (as well as a hot water bottle for chilly nights), and en suite bathrooms with running water, flushing toilets, hot showers, and cozy bathtubs. The entire camp has a beautiful air of nostalgia for bygone safari days, even with its modern embellishments. It’s unclear, though, if vintage safari tents offered the same level of opulence as what you’ll find when you take a plunge in your personal plunge pool. You may kick back on your own private terrace with your favorite ice cold drink in hand after taking a quick plunge in the cool waters.
Sala’s Camp is highly regarded and well-liked for its warm welcome and careful attention to its visitors. You will have full board during your visit, which includes delectable, hearty meals cooked over open flames. All meals are prepared by the camp’s chefs using locally sourced, fresh, seasonal foods from Maasai farms. The camp’s specialties are biscuits, breads, and pastries made from scratch. Your favorite beverages are served with every meal. Savor your first cup of aromatic, hot, fresh coffee in the morning on your own veranda with views of the river and the Serengeti beyond. Savor your bush breakfast on the expansive plains of Africa. Savor picnics with packed lunches and sundowners with your favorite libations and delectable nibbles while on safari. Enjoy a delicious fireside dinner and a glass of great wine while sitting next to a roaring fire as the African night fades and the stars overhead sparkle in the limitless sky.
Sala’s Camp Activities
Sala’s Camp is ideally situated to witness the great migration, but there is much more to discover. The Maasai trackers and guides who work at the camp are very adept at pointing out the big five, the tiny five, and the ugly five. Take a thrilling guided bush walk, go on an exciting wildlife drive, experience the unique perspective of a hot air balloon ride, visit a Masai manyatta (village) to discover more about Maasai culture, go bird watching with your binoculars, or spend an evening stargazing from your hammock. The camp even has kid-friendly activities and a unique curriculum that teaches children the mysteries of the forest. Remember that there can be an additional cost for certain activities.
