There are just seven safari tents at Offbeat Mara Camp, and they are all carefully tucked away in different parts of the bush so as to be invisible to onlookers. Two of the seven tents are designed to accommodate families, offering two separate bedrooms with a linked dressing area, while the other five are normal sized to suit pairs and couples. Every one of the seven tents features a sundeck complete with directors’ chairs and loungers, providing guests with breathtaking views over the Mara North Conservancy, where animals can be seen wandering very close to the tents. Each bright, cream-colored tent is furnished with earth-toned furniture and rugs to complete the classic safari theme. Offbeat Mara is tidy, cozy, and comfortable, with beds made of cedarwood and vibrant blankets. Every tent features a private restroom featuring a bucket shower and a flush toilet.
Offbeat Mara’s main communal room, which was recently remodeled, is elevated above the ground with a canvas roof, strong walls, and a wooden balcony where visitors may unwind on comfortable sofas and armchairs gathered around a fireplace. Additionally, visitors are welcome to use the shop and bar, where proceeds from the sale of locally made crafts go toward supporting the neighborhood. A sizable dining room with a view of the river is located in the middle.
All meals and drinks (with the exception of some premium alcoholic beverages) are free of charge, as are internet access and laundry services. For an extra charge, room service and babysitting are also offered upon request.
