Elewana Elephant Pepper Camp
Elewana Elephant Pepper Camp : Nestled amidst a thick cluster of fig and elephant pepper trees, this cozy small-scale safari camp has a view of the Masai Mara’s undulating grasslands. As one of the select eleven safari camps within the private Mara North Conservancy, the camp enjoys a prime location in a wildlife hotspot, yet it remains distant from the more crowded, tourist-heavy animal areas. An excellent spot for year-round game viewing.
The sensation of being completely alone in the wilderness has a certain quality. Traveling far from modern society and following in the footsteps of historical explorers. Far from concrete, congested skylines, and traffic bottlenecks, but incredibly nearer to the natural world. Elephant Pepper Camp is encircled by breathtaking vistas and an ocean of peace. Situated within the exclusive Mara North Conservancy, the camp is among the select few permitted to function within the region. The conservancy has a maximum number of visitors permitted at any given time, which adds to the area’s sense of isolation and unfamiliarity. Although the camp is opulent, it also fits nicely with the surrounding area. This facilitates the enjoyment of the local game and lion prides even more.
Spaciously arranged into two wings, the camp is on either side of the chic and hospitable central living and eating space. The camp’s whole grounds cover an area of four square kilometers. The camp leaves virtually little trace of its construction—it was built using a non-permanent technique without the use of cement. The camp uses solar energy to generate all of its energy. In the central dining room of Elephant Pepper Camp, guests may enjoy Italian-influenced cuisine as well as other international and local specialties. It’s the ideal place to share safari tales with other camp guests. But, the culinary staff will be pleased to provide a more intimate or romantic dinner for you while you’re visiting, if that’s what you’d prefer. You can enjoy delicious cocktails and canapés by the fireplace in the evenings. The personnel at the camp is incredibly kind and will stop at nothing to make sure you have an enjoyable and unforgettable stay. Remember that the camp is closed from April 1 to June 15 when making travel plans.
Elephant Pepper offers opulent and roomy safari tents. Each tent features its own private verandah and hammock for lounging, with views of the breathtaking African savannah. Every tent has a private bathroom with flushing toilets and hot and cold running water. The tents are tastefully furnished with antique brass fixtures and dark wood finishes. Two larger tents with a little more privacy are available at the site for those organizing a family vacation or honeymoon. The camp’s isolated location means that you’ll have unrestricted access to the vast, bright African skies at night for stargazing. The sounds of lions, hyenas, and leopards will lull you to sleep as soon as you climb into bed and rest your head on a cozy pillow. You’ll get the chance to start your day with a hot cup of tea or coffee and a freshly made cookie that smells so good. On other days you might really go all out and eat outside in the open air among the native fauna on the plains. All of it is a part of the amazing experience you will have when visiting this place.
Elewana Elephant Pepper Camp Activities
There are a plethora of engaging activities available at the camp. The camp, of course, provides superb bush walks and wildlife drives with highly skilled Maasai trackers and guides who hold good guiding degrees and certificates. In 4×4 Toyota Landcruisers, all game drives take place inside the wildlife-rich private Mara North Conservancy. These safari cars feature three rows of seats, charging outlets, and stands for photography equipment. They are open-sided vehicles. Unless you choose for an exclusive safari game drive (at an additional cost), the game drives are shared with other guests. There are plenty of resident big cats, lion prides, and other wild animals in the area. In addition, from July to October, it’s one of the greatest places to witness the magnificent wildebeest migration. For an extra fee, the camp offers hot air balloon excursions as well.
The opportunity to go on nighttime wildlife drives and bush walks is one perk of lodging at the reserve. Pre-dinner game drives, which use red-light spotlights, expose you to a completely other kind of wildlife, such as aardvarks and several other kinds of carnivores. You may take in a closer look at your surroundings with the camp’s guided woodland walks. You will witness the tiny flora and fauna as well as animal trails and micro-ecosystems. The manager of the camp and an extremely competent walking guide, Patrick, along with his Maasai colleagues, will give you a tour of the area and highlight the most noteworthy sights. Within the genuine Masai Mara National Reserve, these activities are forbidden. Scenic sundowners and optional bush breakfasts provide even more distinctive touches to game drives and bush walks. Your guide will set up a beautiful table with delicacies and your preferred beverages for a sundowner in an incredibly picturesque location. Getting a taste of Maasai culture and customs by visiting a Maasai manyatta (village) is another amazing experience provided by the camp.
