Angama Mara

Angama Mara feels ultramodern and refined, perched atop a cliff with a view of the Mara plains and the Great Rift Valley. The abundance of animals that roams the area is the only thing that rivals the breathtaking scenery. This luxurious safari lodge in the center of the Mara Triangle is the ideal location for an exciting African safari without sacrificing comfort or luxury.

Angama Mara
Situated in a unique section in the Greater Mara area is one of the most luxurious safari lodges in the Mara ecosystem. Angama Mara is situated close to the Mara Triangle, a portion of the National Reserve overseen by a nonprofit conservation organization founded by Maasai communities in the area. The Maasai decreased poaching, enhanced infrastructure, and launched community-run initiatives to aid in conservation efforts by banding together to administer the region. ‘Angama’ means ‘to be suspended mid-air’ in Swahili, making it an apt name for this safari resort.

Perched atop a bluff, the lodge commands sweeping views of the Mara plains and the Great Rift Valley. It’s a really intriguing and unparalleled vista. The lodge is a little bit bigger than the majority of the safari lodgings we list, but Angama Mara’s 30 safari tents are divided into two twin camps, making for a very quiet and personal experience. The common spaces of the camp are the same in both portions. The fact that this camp offers a fairly flexible schedule for individuals going on a game drive is what really sets it apart. You don’t have to decide between a game drive in the early morning and one in the late afternoon because the camp lets you plan your own safari itinerary.

In addition, the pavilion has a shop, a library, a Maasai design studio, and a deck that is ideal for admiring the breathtaking view. A personal ‘butler’ is assigned to each party of guests to ensure that their stay is exceptionally memorable. All of the lodge’s employees, however, go above and beyond to make sure that every visitor’s needs are satisfied. This covers optional on-site nail and massage services (surcharge applies).
